Locating PlayStation ® 3 Serial Number. Check if the PS3™ serial numbers are printed on the store receipt. Locate the model number of the PS3™ by looking at the back of the system near the left side of the vents. Underneath the bar code you will see the 11-digit serial number followed by the model number. Please see the example image below:
IMPORTANT: An 8-digit registration number is displayed. You will have 5 minutes to enter this number in the Remote Play with PlayStation3 software. On the computer, in the "Register this computer to the PlayStation3 system" screen, next to "Number:", type the 8-digit number displayed in the previous step, and then click "Next".
